Discover the Galápagos Islands

Visit the “Enchanted Islands” of the Pacific Ocean, the spectacular Galapagos Archipelago. The unique flora and fauna of the archipelago, located 1000 km west of the Ecuadorian mainland, is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Endemic land and sea iguanas, sea lions, penguins, flamingos, pelicans, frigate birds, tropical birds, blue-footed, red-footed, and masked boobies, sea turtles, and the giant tortoises that give Galapagos its name are the main living attractions in fantastic, unreal-looking lava landscapes. You will visit the most important inhabited islands, take day trips to other uninhabited islands, and have plenty of time for independent activities, swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the many dream beaches.

The volcanic archipelago of Galapagos, located almost 1000 km west of the Ecuadorian mainland in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, mainly due to its largely endemic fauna, and is considered one of the best diving spots in the world. On this one-week trip, you will make three dive excursions of two dives each to selected sites in the archipelago with plenty of time to relax on the many dream beaches. There is not only a lot to see underwater.  Endemic land and marine iguanas, sea lions, penguins, flamingos, pelicans, frigate birds, tropical birds, blue-footed, red-footed, and masked boobies, sea turtles, and the giant tortoises that give Galapagos its name are the main living attractions in fantastic, seemingly unreal lava landscapes. You are welcome to extend the tour to include the beautiful island of Isabela.

Day 1 - Sea lion island of San Cristobal

You fly to the Galapagos Islands to San Cristobal. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. This is one of the best diving and snorkeling sites in the archipelago. On the return journey to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, you will visit a secluded white coral beach in Puerto Grande.

Overnight at Hotel Casa de Nelly (Standard), or Hotel Playa Mann Suite (Superior). Includes breakfast and box lunch.

This morning is at your leisure. Visit (by foot, taxi, or rented bike) La Loberia beach, 3.5km behind the airport, where you can swim and snorkel with numerous sea lions. Continue 1km along the signposted path to the cliffs of “Las Negritas”, where numerous seabirds nest, including the unique Tropical Bird. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the dock for a 2-hour speedboat ride to Santa Cruz, where you will be met at the dock in Puerto Ayora and transferred to your hotel. In the early evening, you will need to go to your dive center to try out your equipment for the following day.

Overnight at Hotel Posada del Mar (Standard), or Hotel Ikala Suite (Superior). Includes breakfast.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel. You will first drive to the island’s north side to the Itabaca Channel. Here you will board the boat for a 30-minute trip to the first dive site south of the Mosquera sandbank. During the first one-hour dive, you and your guide will descend to a depth of 18-25 meters. After a lunch break on board, we head to another great dive site at Daphne. Here the maximum depth for your second one-hour dive is less than 20 meters. Neither site usually has strong currents, and Daphne in particular is characterized by its intact black coral walls. You will return to Puerto Ayora in the late afternoon.

Overnight at Hotel Posada del Mar (Standard), or Hotel Ikala Suite (Superior). Includes breakfast and box lunch.

Your third diving tour will take you back to the Itabaca Channel. From here the boat will take you to Seymour Island, where you can see sharks, barracudas, eagle rays, and turtles in small underwater caves. At the second dive site, in the channel between Baltra and Santa Cruz Islands, the diversity and uniqueness of the marine life is also breathtaking. Sometimes the current here is stronger than at the previous sites. In the afternoon you will return to Santa Cruz and be transferred to Puerto Ayora.

Overnight at Hotel Posada del Mar (Standard), or Hotel Ikala Suite (Superior). Includes breakfast and box lunch.

Today’s day trip takes you to the island of Seymour Norte. First, you will drive to the north side of Santa Cruz Island and board the boat there. You will reach Seymour Norte in around 45 minutes and go on a tour, during which your English-speaking guide will explain a lot about the flora and fauna. Seymour is known for its large number of seabirds, including the magnificent frigatebird. The yellow endemic land iguana can also be found here. In the afternoon you drive to Bachas Beach, hidden in mangrove forests, where you can swim and snorkel in an excellent spot. You will be back in Puerto Ayora in the late afternoon

An unforgettable dream trip comes to an end. You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the north side of Santa Cruz Island, to the Itabaca Channel.
